Weekly Clubs

CC4G (Computer Club for Girls)
An exciting new extra-curricular club called CC4G (Computer Clubs for Girls) is now running at the CLC. The club is open to girls aged between 11 and 14 and takes place every Thursday 3.30pm-5.30pm during term time.

e-skills UK, the Sector Skills Council for IT, Telecoms and Contact Centres, has been working with global leaders in the music, movie and computer games industries to develop an exciting, far-reaching 'Computer Clubs' concept. The Clubs will bring professional, current technical skills to girls in years 6, 7, 8 and 9 through fun and innovative activities, such as designing covers for popular girls’ magazines, producing sound sequences and creating splash animations. The objective is to change misperceptions of ICT amongst a generation of girls.

Game Maker
Brand new to the CLC@Winterhill is our Game Maker after school club. The club is open to anyone currently at secondary school and takes place every Tuesday 4.00pm-5.30pm during term time.

Using easy to learn drag-and-drop actions, you can create professional looking games within very little time. You can make games with backgrounds, animated graphics, music and sound effects, and even 3d games! And when you've become more experienced, there is a built-in programming language, which gives you the full flexibility of creating games with Game Maker. What is best, is the fact that Game Maker can be used free of charge at home.

We will be working in conjunction with other local CLCs to establish a competitive Game Maker league, allow our respective club members to work together and offer training days on the use of Game Maker to those interested in getting involved.
